Ortho-Bionomy Instructor Karen Sonter will be supporting this webinar with Donna-Lee. 

During 2021 Donna-Lee has been presenting self-care wellbeing workshops at Broken Hill Outback School of the Air (BHSOTA). BHSOTA has introduced mindfulness practices into the current school plan, to span over the next four years to 2025.

Donna-Lee’s skills and knowledge have become highly regarded and valued, with the inclusion of self-care wellbeing now a regular addition to the BHSOTA staff’s professional development training program.

She recently presented Ortho -Bionomy self-care wellbeing at the BHSOTA Home Tutors Conference where she shared her skills with 35 parents and governesses. She has also conducted fun-filled self-care wellbeing workshops with Yr6, Yr5, Yr4, Yr3, Yr2, Yr1 and kindergarten students. 

The opportunity to work with BHSOTA has given Donna-Lee a platform to hold space for the staff, students, and parents. In the safety and comfort of an Ortho-Bionomy environment each person can notice, discover, and learn about their relationship with themselves.   

In this webinar Donna-Lee will be sharing these experiences and will also demonstrate simple self-care exercises for everyday life.

  • Laptop with camera or computer with camera
  • Or iPhone or Android with a camera (support to hold phone)
  • 1 Chair - A. to sit on & B. for resting your legs upon 
  • Pillows and a warm space to enjoy the self-care you'll be doing upon yourself
  • Other props as you require for your personal comfort
  • Arrive at the member webinar 15 mins early to set up your phone/tablet for the practical section.

  Postural Re-education and Post Treatment techniques with Karen Sonter

In this class students will gain understanding, exploring and creating balance within the structures that hold us upright. Modern life tends to have us living in a fast-forward "lean" or in an overuse pattern. This creates structural disharmony, patterns of inefficient movement, pain, lack of movement and even rigidity. The aim of this class is to learn methods to notice these inefficient patterns of imbalance, learn ways to create freedom of movement, and ways to integrate these changes.
