This is my first attempt at presenting information for an upcoming class, so I am lacking in a few skills.
This course in Isotonics and Isometrics differentiates between the two techniques, showing how to use each of them, to transfer between them, and how the client can get to use their brain in perhaps a new and adventurous way.
Yes, the brain can change, and so can the physical body. Rigid physical patterns, or unhelpful physical patterns can be broken down, promoting change to greater mobility and a deeper understanding of just how a particular function might be working.
By restraining movement while a muscle is engaged, self-correcting reflexes are stimulated and habitual holding patterns can be released. In this class you can experience for yourself the endless possibilities of initiating and embodying change through subtle and more active Ortho-Bionomy techniques..
Foundations of Ortho-Bionomy; Phase 4 Focusing more deeply on 'The Core of The Body' and including some Post techniques and Self Care for whole spine. See class flyer for more details. ...
#Nb This is a Sunday/Monday Phase 5 class. The focus of the Phase 5 class is to move to a more subtle level of awareness of the practice and principles of Ortho-Bionomy. Specific techniques develop and increase the student's understanding and proprioceptive sensitivity to the self-corrective reflexes initiated by the client. Through the practice of observing, following and supporting subtle movement patterns, muscular tension is released, range of motion is increased, and pain is reduced. ...
Ortho-Bionomy Phase 5 and the Reflexes with Advanced Instructor Luann Overmyer
Phase 5 Ortho-Bionomy is about having a conversation with the tissue. The gentle and subtle approach of this work is especially appropriate for releasing severe, acute pain, chronic patterning, and for interrupting the mental and emotional fixated aspects that reinforce the tension patterns.See More
