About the course:

In Phase Four, we learn how to interact with the direct responses of the body, specifically movement, positioning and structural realignment.  With Phase Five we focus on more subtle levels of awareness and interaction with the techniques and principles of Ortho-Bionomy.  Specific exercises are employed to develop and increase the practitioner's understanding of and proprioceptive sensitivity to the self-corrective movements and reflexes of the client.

Arthur Lincoln-Pauls taught that the body has a reflexive capacity to respond to self-awareness, and that we can interact with these reflexes to facilitate the individual's natural ability to self-balance and self-correct.  Through the practice of observing, following and supporting these subtle movement patterns, muscular tension is released, range of motion is increased and pain is reduced.

In Phase Five practitioners are encouraged to do less and to allow the client to explore his or her own capacity for change.

Upcoming Events
Consultations with Karen Consultations with Karen

As part of your tutorials, in the Practitioner Training program, a Consultation is one-to-one time that you arrange to spend with a Registered Instructor or Associate Instructor to discuss your own questions and concerns about any aspect of Ortho-Bionomy. Not all of the private discussions need to be with your advisor. This time spent discussing your training, or expanding your understanding of ways you work in your clinic, can really support and compliment what you learn in classes.

Being able to talk about Ortho-Bionomy in a coherent way that leads to people saying “that makes sense” and booking a session is the expected outcome from this course. It took me about 18 years to really get this piece nailed down, now I get about 70% conversion from talking about Ortho-Bionomy to a potential client to them booking a session.
