Isometrics and Isotonics using the principles of Ortho-Bionomy. With Instructor Karen Sonter
In Ortho-Bionomy, Isometric and Isotonic techniques are used for working with inefficient muscular tension patterns, as well an underdeveloped muscle tone. A range of techniques will be demonstrated and practiced in this class, including related anatomy. Through the use of gently resisting movement, as the client engages muscles, self-correcting reflexes are stimulated, allowing habitual holding patterns to release. Participants learn how the conscious use of gentle obstacles can help promote change from both rigid physical and emotional patterns, towards greater mobility and allow the client to actively participate in the session.

We all have emotions - and we’ve definitely felt them - but do we know what they actually are? What purpose do they serve - if any - and why are they often so difficult to pin down or to describe? Where in the body do they actually ‘sit’ and how can we access them – or avoid them? What are the consequences of this? See More |
