Using the principles of Ortho-Bionomy students will learn, and practice, how to explore and support the body's preferred patterns of movement, or stillness. In this way the client is invited to actively participate and recognize their own patterns, stimulating self-correction, releasing structural imbalances through gentle deliberate movement.
This class is a perfect Ortho-Bionomy introductory class OR will provide expanded ways of working for current students of Ortho-Bionomy.

If I had to choose, I would say this is my favourite Ortho-Bionomy class.

In this class we learn how to create effective structural and functional change for clients, through the use of gentle, mindful movement.
Students will learn how to assess, explore and use the client's preferred patterns of movement, or stillness, to create change.

Through movement, clients are invited to actively participate and recognize their own patterns, stimulating the self-correcting processes in the nervous system.

The Exploration of Movement Patterns class provides students with techniques that are very useful:
  • as "stand alone" treatment......or
  •  with other Ortho-Bionomy methods.......or
  •  with other treatment modalities, to enhance treatment outcomes.....and
  • as both assessment and treatment practices
There are no pre-requisites for this class. All learners are welcome. It is, in fact, a great "beginner" class.

That's why it is my favourite class. Once learnt, anyone can easily incorporate these gentle, non-technical Ortho-Bionomy Exploration movements into any current clinical practice, and they simply feel like a natural part of the expected treatment.

Fee: $380 Early Bird discount paid in full by 8/7/23 and $430 if paid after 8/7/23

Phase 5 with Advanced Instructor Frank Heslin Port Macquarie
#Nb This is a Sunday/Monday Phase 5 class. The focus of the Phase 5 class is to move to a more subtle level of awareness of the practice and principles of Ortho-Bionomy. Specific techniques develop and increase the student's understanding and proprioceptive sensitivity to the self-corrective reflexes initiated by the client. Through the practice of observing, following and supporting subtle movement patterns, muscular tension is released, range of motion is increased, and pain is reduced. ...

Phase 5 Ortho-Bionomy is about having a conversation with the tissue. The gentle and subtle approach of this work is especially appropriate for releasing severe, acute pain, chronic patterning, and for interrupting the mental and emotional fixated aspects that reinforce the tension patterns.

More happens in Ortho-Bionomy work than just moving the body into positions for release. There is a dynamic that is present that allows the practitioner and client to affect change in physical, energetic and emotional levels through subtle as well as non-physical contact.

Trauma Resolution with Bruce Stark - Adelaide

Accessing the Resources for Integration There are many ways in which the physiological and emotional components of unresolved trauma can remain held within the body's tissues and nervous system. For some people there is an unsettling in their body which isn't able to access the usual easing and calming responses that we would experience in a session. Sometimes the resources of the body to address trauma aren't available resulting in an exaggeration of the symptoms or distress.
